Today’s Google Doodle celebrates the artistic spirit of Pacita Abad. Pacita was born on October 5th, 1946, in the Philippines. She came to the U.S. to pursue her graduate studies from San Francisco, California. Pacita’s art used to be extremely vibrant and she became popular for her bold use of colors in her artwork. She traveled across the globe and raised awareness about critical issues through her high-impact art. As part of an art project, Pacita covered Singapore’s Alkaff Bridge with over 2,350 colorful circles. During her lifetime, she created over 5,000 pieces of art. Her artistic creations have been carefully preserved across more than 70 countries. Videonium takes this opportunity to thank Pacita Abad for her exemplary lifelong contributions to art.
